Yachty Gras 2003 Reports

The Remedy Report
The Krew of Hunter

Members of the Krew shown are: top row:
Philip Kropf, Jack Lund, Ed Herndon, Ed Reh, Bottom Row: Jay Green, Lillian Olivari, Patti Lund, Birgit Green, Marion Herndon, Barbara and Don Tonelli, Hope Reh and Bert Olivari.

Our Secret weapons for the occasion were a Sling Shot built by Jack Lund to shoot Beads to the crowd, and A Catapult on the fore deck which could launch a whole handful at a time.

Santa Clause came out of hibernation and wore Remedy meets Beachcomber Mardi Gras Masks front and back so he would not be recognized. We added Xmas Lights and had Mardi Gras tinsel up the fore stay and toping lift.

Thus prepared we set to sea with Marion at the helm for the first pass of Kemah Boardwalk.
"Hey That's a Band" someone said pointing to the boat off our Port side. It was S/V Beachcomber making a close pass.

"That's Not a Band. That is Andy and a bunch of Noisemakers." I said. "Bert, swivel your Catapult and Blast them with beads."

"Can't do it. Tonelli lashed our gun to the deck. We can only Fire to Starboard." answered Bert.

Shore Side at Outriggers:
"Hank and Sue aka Granola II were at Outriggers on the channel along with Bill Berg
and Lizette, Sea Cruise to watch the parade and listen to the music of our own Andy and Ben."

ocean breeze
"Andito y Benito entertained with the almost flame-ous "Ocean Breeze" at Outrigger's for the Yachty Gras Parade.  Hank and Sue were present, as were the mysterious dancing couple seen below; tropical sirens lured the sailor boys and the band played on!

Name the dancing couple and win an all expense paid trip to this week's Dock Party!!!  If you win the trip, call Andy for the details!

Bottom Feeders:
We decorated up £ Sterling Saturday afternoon while having a few sips of Huradurra Gold. The more we worked the better the boat looked. Head ring leader was Luke Sterling, followed by Gary Graham, Chris Fowler, JJ Wallace, me, Wayne G and a friend of Luke's--Larry Smith, Keith Dunlap and not to be outdone ; Monica , Julie, Linda , and Claire were on board to make sure the food got served and the work got done.

Our boat looked good with a Teasip flag on the Port Spreader and The Texas A & M Corps flag on the Starboard spreader. Our color Motif was Gold, Green and Purple. Julie Graham wore a beautiful Add-Ons that most women would die for. At the Judges stand we opened the front hatch and 100 helium filled balloons shot to the sky. What a site to behold.

We all chunked, threw and slung bead to the Hoards of screaming revelers on
the Kemah Boardwalk. JJ was the pilot and did a grand job: not once touching
or running over anything. And the partying continued at the Seabrook Beach Club.
£ Sterling placed high in the standings. We all had a Grand Time.
