Good Times in Indian Rocks

Robert and Grace Hammers
These are our Good Friends Robert and Grace Hammers.

They live aboard their Boat M/Y Hammerstime three slips down from us.

They introduced us to life in Indian Rocks,  the Club at Crabby Bills, Jimmy Guana's,  where to shop, The Seafood Market... and the Fishing Tournament.

Grace took care of our cats when we were in France. Marion took care of their cat Blackie when they went to the races at Taledega.

Robert helped me move the boat from Indian Rocks to Pensacola when we were going back to Texas.

The Winning Fish
Stone Crab Claws
This was the Winning King Mackerel in the Tournament. The boat was Et Tu Brute. The fish was 39.88 Lbs. Both were aptly named!
This Appetizer of Medium Stone Crabs came from the Seafood Market at Crabby Bills. They were a favorite with a glass of Chardonnay.

We did a lot of bicycle riding in Indian Rocks. When Rich and Nancy Ojard came to town they liked the place so much they stayed for almost a week. They complained that they had been in Florida for over a month and had never seen an alligator. The saw us ride off on our bikes, and shortly after, they had theirs out on the dock.

We told them about the Pinellas Trail. It was built by the county along an old railroad right-of-way and extends for about fifteen miles from St. Petersburg to Clearwater. We threw all four bikes in the back of our SUV and drove to Walsingham park where we could get to the trail easily.

Here is a small gator we saw in the park .

We took the trail for about seven mile down toward St. Petersburg.

There is a Micro Brewery at Ole' Bar and Grill.

We did the beer sampler and picked our suds.

They served a big plate of Nachos,
which we devoured.

Then Back on the Trail.

Recently Rich and Nancy wrote that they had given up REAL biking:

"After we left Indian Rocks we spent a couple of nights at Venice and found
an electric collapsible bike outlet store right next to the marina.  The
bikes have a battery pack that allows you to petal or use electric motor or
both to give an extra boost going uphills or against the wind or to be just
darn lazy.  So we traded in our bikes and made the purchase.  We had a blast
touring Venice and later Punta Gorda on our electrified bikes.  It was a
real kick to see motorist heads turn as we zipped across intersections
without even pedaling."

Our Cats Beauregard and Belle

They get along fine together.
