Cancun Feb 24- Mar. 3, 2007

This may well be the last time we visit  Club International de Cancun.  After 29 years of ownership and more that 30 visits, we elected to take the buyback offer.  If we come again it will be through renting a villa. We most assuredly will not be in the same unit we enjoyed for the last 17 years.

This is the magnificent view we had from our Villa 1436.

Sam and Charlotte Pakenham-Walsh were our Guests for the trip.  We had  great bridge competitions at least once a day and exchanged partners for each new match.

Our Favorite Venues  are The Beach and The Tennis courts.

Tennis Action

Tennis is strictly a 7 to 9 Morning activity which usually fills all three courts. It's mainly the Ladies who play, but the Guys get the nod to fill in  for Mixed Doubles.  I got Knocked out of action early in the week with a pulled muscle in the left upper thigh. I was able to play singles with Marion the last day. I was too gimpy to give her a good game, but it gave her some warm up.

Once I was out of the Game,  Robert became Marion's Steady Partner.

At The Beach

The Beach is where you Nap with a novel on your face, Watch the people passing by, Get some Rays, Have a Pina Colada.

The Beach is quite inviting: there are even Sunfish boats to use.
The winds were great on the two days I got out.

Slema is Sue Meyerowitz elder sister, she recently turned 90 and is proud of it.
I introduced Selma to Sudoku with the claim that it prevents Altzheimers.
She took the Bait and took up the Book 'Sudoku for Dummies' that Nancy had brought her.

I like the Beach because you meet the greatest people there.

Supper at El Conquistador

Sam and Charlotte treated us to a special dinner at the Royal Mayan El Conquistador Restaurant. This is dining at its finest. Guitatist Jorge Duran provided entertainment that evening. We bought his album Guitar Nights and he signed it for us.
