Cancun Feb. 25 - March 4, 2006

This is the next to last year in our Time Share contract. Marion and I have gone there together every year since 1991.
I purchased in 1978 have gone every year since 1979.

Hurricane Wilma visited Cancun in late October 2005 and stayed for 60 hours... There was a lot of damage in and around Cancun, But the Vacation Club International suffered minimal damage, mainly to vegetation and a few palapas on the beach. The Pier on the beach was washed away but there was actually some growth to the main section of the beach. VCI is on the Bay looking North to Isla Mujeres. Most of the Heavy damage was to the Newer High rise hotels looking to the East on the Caribbean side and to the many shops and restaraunts in the Hotel Zone.

Actually the vegitation had become a bit overgrown. The Hurricane caused the management to clear out the damaged overgrowth and prune the Palms.... The result is that the Complex looks Brand New.
