Lisbon


Lisbon  is located on the Tagus River  9 miles from the Atlantic ocean.  Magnificent views greet our ship at arrival.

Scenes from the Tour Bus ride

We purchased  the round trip shuttle tickets to the central Square....  There was over an hour wait predicted before the bus we were assigned to would leave...

We decided to walk 10 minutes to the Local Tram stop and then ride into town...  We Beat the Shuttle to the plaza and saved our return tickets for the ride back.

I had to find an ATM  to  get cash for the Hop-on-Hop-off.  As always these are the best buy in Touring.

The triple Cheese Pizza was done on a very light and fluffy crust. The Tomato sauce had a nice tangy taste....  Quite Differennt and Quite Good.  Rating ****$$+

After lunch of Beer and Pizza we caught Tram 28 to the castle...

Actully we went past the castle stop before I asked the conductor for directions.

He told us to go back two stops.

We were at a lovely Plaza in front of St Andrews Abby Church. 

We took a picture there and the sequence that follows:

The road is Very Narrow but two way auto traffic is handled by taking to
the Sidewalk to let the Other direction Pass.

There are sections where the downhill tram cuts off on a siding spur and waits for the Up hill tram to pass.

Some places are so Narrow that you can reach out and touch the Building
passing 18 inches away.

At fifteen minutes to five we rushed down the Hill to catch the 5 PM Shuttle back to the Ship....

We actually made it down faster than the Tram that we had just missed.

We packed a lot of sight seeing into a 10 am to 5pm  window.
