The Entrance to Double Bayou

The Water Tank and A Reef Marker Behind make a good range for entering Double Bayou.
There is a  shoal extending South from the Small Island north of the Channel.

range
The channel is 6 to 8 ft deep depending on tide. Most groundings happen between Marker 15 and the island.
It's 3nm from Marker 16 to the Anchorage. Take the East Fork. It is your first right turn in the Bayou.

There is good water in the bayou all the way .
Deepest water is on the outside of the bayou bends;
cutting the corners can run you aground

Hammerhead's and  Marker 17

These two restaraunts are side by side on the north bank of Double Bayou just after you enter.

Pasture Events

The Double Bayou Pasture is where it all happens. The boats are secured bow into the bank. Usually the anchor is set on the bank to hold the boat from drifting back. Lines from the stern or midship cleat are led to adjacent boats if available, or to a tree, stake, or other stout tie off on land. This arrangement gets the boats packed in close enough that  people can move between adjacent boats as well as onto the bank. Dinghy's are popular  for exploring the Bayou and moving to and from the party location.
