Since
some of us are getting older every year, it is getting more difficult
to travel longer distances to reunions. We decided that, instead of
having week-end long reunions every two years, we would try having
local reunions starting in Toronto and then, hopefully, in Houston
2010 and Windsor/Detroit 2011. The September reunion in Toronto was
a huge success. We had far more participants than we ever imagined
possible. Here is a list of those who attended:

Basilians who joined us were: Ken Decker Bob MaddenBud Pare Bob Holmes Dennis Noelke David Katulski Vince Thompson Jim Rent Joe Walsh Bill Irwin Gerry Lalonde Maurice Restivo Hugh Foley Ken O’Keefe Warren Schmidt Owen Lee Harry Gardner Hod Marshall Leo Burns Brian Higgins Peter Mosteller |
Since the reunion began at 95 St. Joseph St., many more Basilians from the infirmary would have joined us but they were dispersed elsewhere because of renovations being done to the top floor.
The
social part of the reunion was in the quadrangle at the Seminary
where Larry & Fran Elmer provided the 64 of us with drinks and
hors d’oeuvres. The former Basilians then walked across the street
to Charbonnel Lounge where we had a catered buffet dinner. This was
followed by a sing-a-long led by Bill Lee. Everyone was most
enthusiastic about the reunion. The one complaint was that it was
too short to get to talk to everybody. There were some people we had
not seen for 30 or 40 years and we did not even get to say hello. We
will try to adjust the schedule for the next time.
